Granola bars that fall apart are no longer bars, they are granola pieces!

The solution that gives me PERFECT granola bars every time...

There are three parts to making PERFECT granola bars: having the right bakeware pan, finding the right recipes and knowing the secret tips.

As a newbie to homemade granola bars I searched for recipes online and was instantly overwhelmed - I had no idea where to start!
I chose the recipe with a pretty picture & printed it out - all EIGHT pages, mostly ads (ugh!!!).

I ran to the store, bought the ingredients (never knew a tiny bag of sliced almonds could cost so much!) then returned home excited to make my first batch of homemade granola bars.

Step one: toast the oats - that was a disaster! I burnt the oats & spilled some in my oven. I toasted a second batch & sat on my kitchen floor watching them through the oven window like a hawk!

I followed the recipe exactly, pressed my mix into my 8x8" pan and baked them to a golden perfection.

Finally the last step: cutting them into bars! As I cut the bars out they crumbled to pieces!!!

I'm pretty sure some smoke of frustration came out my ears like on cartoons.

The bars were shaped like Idaho & Nebraska. My sweet hubby took a bite of Idaho & pointed out, "They still taste good!!!"

"Thanks Babe," but I was still frustrated & annoyed that I had put in all that effort & they didn't turn out right.

Then I had an ah-ha moment: "What if there was a bakeware pan that had individual slots for the granola bars, like a cupcake pan, so the bars wouldn't need to be cut up!!!!

My excitement grew & I knew they would turn out PERFECTLY if I didn't need to cut them up!
